Sunroof/Moonroof...or whatever...

I have an 01 with the metal tracks and mine will not open. It closed sometime last spring and the next time I tried to open it the driver side stuck down while the passenger side went up. Pushing up on it does not get the drivers side to pop up. I think that I snapped a cable or something that drives the sides??? Any ideas?

mine is broken too , and wont shut all the way , took it to the mechanics and its still not closed all the way , i guess it can be used as a 2nd spoiler for those windy days if nothin

i just had the same problem when i uninstalled my old one to put in this new one that won't fit. still pissed about that but anyway is it the metal tab that pushes it up in the back that is the problem because mine wouldn't go down either. no matter how hard i pushed on it it just wouldn't budge. what i did was i pushed on the tab until it broke off. look at the pics.. that will keep your moonroof down. lol... it works though. theres no problem with leaks or anything.

I know how most of you feel. My sunroof hasnt opened for about 2 years lol. Im sure if it just decided to go bad on me or the fact i had 2 15 L7s in my car which may have shook something loose.

I have a 2001 Cougar and I want the sunroof to actually work. I bought it with it broken so the dealership cut me a deal. The switch makes a noise when I press the close button but does nothing when I press open. Could it be the switch? Where would I get one?
