DPFE sensor question

OK guys, I've read and read and read through all the stuff I can find in the forums here and you all know I'm pretty thorough and this is the most confusing replacement part I've seen yet....

The one physically in my car right now is a F7UE-9J460-AA. I've read that the replacement for this is a 4U7Z-9J460-AA and I've also seen other people refering to the F77Z-9J460-AA. WTF?? Which is it? To further the confusion, the common post about the replacement part is a black plastic version from WELLS with the part number of SU282 from Autozone, however, when I go to Autozone's webpage, and search for the emmision replacement for the Cougar for this part, it comes up with the SU2108 which looks identical and is a different price!!

OMG, can someone sift through this that has done this and just tell me if I need to order the SU282 or the SU2108 or tell me it doesn't make a @#$% of difference please.

Lol.

Re: DPFE sensor question

Go to autozone and see if they can find that part, juz tell them what it is. Although, they may not have it on the computer as what we know it as, DPFE. But not too long ago to replace mine i think i saw a thread here with someone posting the box that said WELLS and the code... I have a 99 as well.

Re: DPFE sensor question

Well after all the pain and suffering Dan, Josh, and I went through removing it ( sorry about the hand Dan ) and the pain that Pierre and I went through the next morning installing it on mine, I cleared the DTC's and CEL and passed the emissions test however, 2 days later, the DTC's and CEL are BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I'll wait till it's a little warmer out and pull off the upper intake manifold and clean the hell out of it, the throttle body and the EGR intake from the upper and see if that does it.

Re: DPFE sensor question

I'm so glad we don't have emissions testing in Minnesota.
