It won't be stock, thats for sure. What are my plans? I'm not sure yet.Originally Posted by MaverickFlyer
Suspension will probably be done first along with small bolt-on parts (intake/exhaust). After that, who knows!

An I4 would be pretty interesting. It'd be pretty good for a project daily driver. AutoTrader has some for $5K...I dunno how much you wanna spend though. I don't really know where to look other than on there or on here when one comes up every once in a while but usually in the States..
guy in chicago has an mtx for sale and its a v6. hes about an hour from me
FYI....this post is now the ontario neco blog....post your day here and let us know you are alive.....this thread is for general chatter.
EDIT: And Mike....as I said...I'll keep an eye out for ya
On a side note, I bought a 1997 Grand Am yesterday (4 dr, atx, 3.1L V6), total price, with tax, $1381.94 (no, there are no numbers missing in the price) all it needed to pass a safety, 2 fog light bulbs, 1 brake light bulb...one manifold bolt. I'll post pics in a few days when I get a chance to clean it.
I'm having a hell of a time doing my suspension swap, so any help is appreciated.
I've got the springs compressed with a spring compressor and all 3 bolts undone. However, now trying to undo the top bolt holding evrything together from the top and it doesn't seem to want to go. When the screw turns, so does the whole strut rod so it makes no progress. Thinking of clamping something, but don't know where to clamp??
and everything in the strut tower is loosened off?
I'm trying to figure out what you have here.....you took off the struts and springs as a whole from the car right? (not compressed the spring while it's still on the car?
Yes, you have to take out the whole strut assembly from the car. Compress the spring, then unbolt it from the top.

Why an I4? Because of the gas milage? If it's not a daily driver I wouldn't worry about it.Originally Posted by Mike
