    Re: 2000 Parts Car

I realize you are using the MTX in another car, but if you don't need the rest of the stuff I might be interested in all of the parts need to do an MTX swap into my cougar.

Here is a link for the ATX-MTX how-to to give you an idea of the parts I would be looking for, additionally and I don't think the how-to mentions it, but I would also prefer to have the complete wiring harness and computer as well. I'm not concerned about wear items or even parts that are easily available like clutch, flywheel, axles, etc if you need/want them.

I'm in no rush to get these parts, nor do I have a ton of money to spend on them, but since you have a parts car and probably not much use for those parts I figured I would let you know my interest. Let me know how much you would want for them. I could also certainly come up and help remove the parts.

    Oh boy.
You want the sub frame as well or are you going to modify your atx to work ?

I was hoping to use the axles in mine, the clutch and flywheel i wanna see what they look like, i was going to pick the better haha.

Hmmm... How does $350 sound ? offer ?

    Re: 2000 Parts Car

Yes, I would definitely want the sub frame. I want the car to be close to an OEM MTX as possible when I'm done, but of course upgraded to properly support the 3L. Like said you can keep the axles, clutch, flywheel, etc as I would replace them with new aftermarket parts anyways. I was thinking more along the line of $250, but I would be willing to meet halfway at $300.

    Deal.
When do you have time ?
I'll probably have the sub frame out already since i need the trans out anyways.
And just so you know, there is minor surface rust on the sub frame, would be a good idea to blast and repaint it. Or atleast clean it up a little and repaint.

Are you planning on having a shop build an MTX-75 with LSD for you ?
I have one (stock differential) in pieces if you might be interested in it. 2 bearings come apart and i didnt feel like messing with it.

    Re: 2000 Parts Car

Yeah, I expect there to some rust on an 11 year old sub frame. Currently my weekends are booked up through mid June. So, I wouldn't be able to do anything with it until then. If you end up pulling it before then please hang onto all of the nuts and bolts and if you could try to organize them a little. I'm not sure if those will be that same between cars. As for the MTX, not sure what I'm going to do for that yet. My ATX only has 37k miles on it, and running strong so I'm in no rush to do the swap. I will probably deal with that it in a year or two.

    Re: 2000 Parts Car

Ok, if you could make a check list of all the parts you need as well that would be great so we are on the same page.
Dont wanna think im done pulling parts then scrap this thing with something you will need.

I'll need to do a little more research on the swap, but hopefully I can have a full parts list by this weekend. Thx.
