You will loose. All Greg has to do is stop at the local McD's and fill up with free vegy oil. Since I drive so much for my job I have been seriously considering getting a Jetta TDI and getting a conversion kit to run vegy oil, over the life of the car it would completely pay for itself.

Yes and no. You can't just stop off someplace and pour the grease into your gas tank. You first have to refine it a bit. Mostly you just have to run it through filters. But i think there might be a couple other things you have to do as well. I remember seeing it on tv once a while back.

Somewhere in the area of $160 to fill your truck up.....OUCH
Good deal on it but I think you now know why he was selling it so cheap.
Just don't use it as a daily driver and you're all set man!

Yeah, I simplified that a bit. If you have a kit like the one from greasecar.com you only need to filter it, but then you can only run the oil when the car/truck is at operating temperature. Your other option is run biodiesel which does take more processing, but can be ran just like regular diesel.

My brother is building a Cummins 4BT biodiesel project and you dont need conversion kits

Yes that is my brother and i am behind the camera. This jetta a week later died because of the POS's clutch wheel i was driving it down the highway and the friction disc blew and my brother did not feel like replacing the friction disc again.

and this is the 4bt

Totally ran off of Bio diesel

My brother is behind the camera and im holding the engine this time because the engine was getting rowdy on start ups.

Re: Soooo....i yet again picked up another vehicle..

old engine oil works too, you just have to thin it down with some normal diesel and filter it.

working at a tow company/ automotive garage = free waste oil
not to mention using the company card to buy diesel and getting the discounted rate for diesel, which is actully a few cents cheaper than 87
