Good luck. You're gonna be waiting awhile. Pretty soon there will be a little dan running around.

So with historic plates you can only drive on the weekend?

Yeah, I just did the calculations last night, and its going to take exactly 2 years after our wedding to have it all paid off and to have as much money as I would like to have saved up before we buy the house.

My understanding of historic plates you can pretty much only drive your car to and from events where you are showing the car, or atleast that is their intended purpose. Not for everyday driving.

Re: New Toy (Not 56k friendly)

-get rid of front/rear bumper gaurds

-get some rims that fit the style of the car

-paint it red

then i would call it done. nice pick.

Re: New Toy (Not 56k friendly)

Well that sucks. I'd want to cruise around.

So what about all these guys with Chevelle SS's and historic plates. Those things just SIT there!!! The car gods do not approve the wasted horsepower.

Re: New Toy (Not 56k friendly)

It was definately nice for the past week driving the Fiat around. I definately got a lot of sun, and a lot of looks! So many people giving me the thumbs up! This weekend I get the driveshaft, pumpkin, and other rear end parts and hope to have it swapped out Sunday. Bad thing is, its gonna be cold and rainy (figures!! ) So I unfortunately have to drive it in the rain tomorrow morning to my dads so he can start the tear down.

Re: New Toy (Not 56k friendly)

Well we basically swapped out the whole drivetrain, except for the transmission, when doing so we saw a TON of floor rot. So we cut the cancer out, which is about 60% of the floor. 2 weeks into the project we have the passenger side about finished. Hopefully soon the floor will be completed so I can finally drive her.

Re: New Toy (Not 56k friendly)

All up and running! Fixed up the body so the paint doesnt look so dulle (someone rattle-canned the sides leaving nice clear coated paint underneath. I love buffers)

Finally *sigh* its done.
