    question for the brilliant

do H4 bulbs and H7 bulbs have the same configuration?

also does the wattage determine brightness? or is it temperature which the bulbs runs at? lemme know

i believe its watts that determines brightness. edgecat was just showing me sometihng on PIAA lights vs normal lights, they appear to be 'whiter' but thats all they are, they also claim something like 55w=85w or something stupid which isnt true cuz that would break the laws of physics. anyhow stock lights vs aftermarket lights, u really wont see a difference in arear u can see, just the color of the light..

From what I remember, watts is the power used by the lamp/light/device. When they say it's a 55w bulb that's as bright as an 85w bulb, it's saying that it only uses 55watts of power compared to the 85 watts your standard bulb is, but is just as bright.

    Watts (P) =Voltage (V) * Current (I)

im trying to track down the freaking brightest (hopefully nicely illegal lights) bulbs i can find and because our fog lights are weak and sh1+, i was thinking of converting them into h7 bulbs. AND i was thinking of using h4s instead of my h7s in the lowbeams because PIAA doesn't even make a H7 and i was contemplating using PIAA for all my bulbs.

As long as it doesn't draw more power than stock, go with whatever is bright.

We are running the piaa's as the low beam headlights. They are f'ng awesome they do actually give you a further field of vision at least 10ft. when I installed them we marked where it ends and then the new bulbs. I can't say enough about them. (although they are expensive) And they are legal. Oh and i had talked with some people about switching to another bulb Like the h3 and the only thing they said was that you have to watch how hot the new blub will run cause it may be too hot for the plastic ofg the stock fog light. or just get some true HID aftermarket foglamps.
just purchased 1996 Camaro z28 A4 convertible Now it's got a fresh coat of paint.
