cant view my profile?

im on here all the time, and have been a registered user for over a year now, and this has never happened before.
i tried to view my profile because i wanted to look up an old thread i had started, and so i click on my user name, and im directed to a page that tells me that this user has not registered, and has no profile to view.
can anyone help me out with this? i tried logging out and then back in, but it does the same thing.
i can get to my messages and all, and post, but thats it.

FWIW, I got the same message when I clicked his profile.

a single or double quote are not allowed in the URL string. The URL rewriting script it taking the single quote, converting it to a dash and that user doesn't exist, thus the error. I would recommend changing your username to remove the single quote.

Or just change the text on the error page from

finn-o-cannon.html

to

finn o'cannon.html

i took B3NN3TS suggestion, and yeah, it works, but i figure ill just change my username and make it easier on myself in the future.

The user cannot change his/her own screen name, to my knowledge. Send a PM to an administrator, and they can do it for you.

The problem isn't that direct linking to the proper user name, it's that everywhere within the forum software, it's rewritten as part of the SEO engine to replace characters with dashes and there is a clash with the special characters.

so, theoretically, if someone were to change my username, and omit the apostrophe, would it possibly work then? well, work like it used to at least.
