So how many people have trouble with tinted windows?

I was juggling on the idea to either get hid lights or tinted windows since they're around the same price. I really wanted the tinted windows but the tint ticket is stopping me from getting it. I'm just amazed how many people actually got it around here that don't mind the ticket.

when i had my cougar up in MI i got a ticket the first day i was there for tint. But then again you could still technically get a ticket for having HID lights since its not a DOT approved ballast.

This is the law regarding window tinting in here. That being said, I've seen people rolling around with really dark tint, and then you have instances like kustomcougar who has medical reasons for his tint, which our law allows, and was still forced to peel the tint off on the side of the road if I remember right.

i removed my front tint last year...2 points and 150 bucks isn't worth it for obstruction of view...that being said, i just haven't redone mine yet...HIDs would be great!

2 pts? Before I tore my front tint off, It was just a fix it ticket or $100. I paid it twice and then tore it off.

Did the law change?

I had tint on my cougar from about sept 2003 until october 2008 with tinteded tails, side markers and blacked out reflectors. The only time I had a problem was when I was pulled over for speeding in October 2008 and the cop chopped it to a fix it ticket for tint. No biggie other than the fact that you have 10 days to fix it and I was getting married the next day and flying to the carribean the next, got it fixed up the day I got back and ticket taken care of.

I have been driving my S4 for the past 3-4 months around the area putting about 6k miles on it in that time and not a problem at all.

I will say brighter cars with tint tend to get more attention from what I have seen. A nice ZN with limo is going to get attention.

Also if you have like 35 on the fronts and limo on the back you get less pissed off cops since you are at least visible through the tint.
