WTB: Headliner

hey guys, the headliner in my car was hacked up when the previous owner of my car had an aftermarket moon roof installed, so im looking for a new headliner from a 2000 WITHOUT a sunroof hole in it. i plan on cutting my own hole in it so it has a nice custom fit. i would prefer a pickup, if possible.

can anyone help?

Re: WTB: Headliner

yeah its a pain in the ass, for the time being i modded the headliner in my car using some fiberglass and a piece from another headliner, the only thing is fiberglass does not want to bend and stay flush with the moon roof,i have used some guerilla glue on it and its holding allright, but it looks like garabage still and i got glue all over the fabric...its just annoying as hell looking up and seeing how ghetto it looks.... i want to re-do it the RIGHT way.

and i redid the pillars and the headliner to be black, i got some fabric from joann fabrics,... do they have stock black headliner fabric? i would rather have that cause personally i hate the feeling of the fabric from joann fabs.

Re: WTB: Headliner

I'm not sure how hacked up your headliner is, but I went to a local fabric store and got a whole bunch of black felt to cover up my factory tannish-fabric and it looks great. I just used a bunch of fabric glue...no sewing. Really cheap.

Re: WTB: Headliner

yea they do thats were i get a discount about 40-50 % off. so the stock material would be about 8-12 doallars a yard and you would need 2-3 yards

Re: WTB: Headliner

nice

and my headliner was extremely hacked up, instead of a small hole for the moonroof it had a whole that went all the way to the back where the 3 little pins pop into your headliner. and the sides were about 2 inches off from the sides of the moonroof... its like they didnt feel like measuring so they just took a utility knife to it and cut the biggest possible hole... it sucked, you could poke my ceiling with your finger when you were in the backseat and all you would feel is fabric and then metal. but like i said i modded it and its the right size hole now, but its just too damn ghetto for me to be ok with.
(im a freak about my car, like most of us on here) i just want to start over and cut my own hole.

Re: WTB: Headliner

there is a how-to somewhere about redoing your headliner, u need to strip off the old fabric and scrape off the underneath foam. spray on 3m glue and apply the new fabric, you should be able to customize the hole to the size of ur moonroof.

Re: WTB: Headliner

yeah i did all of that, and it worked out great. but like i said, since i used fiberglass to modify my hacked up headliner its just really stiff and doesnt fit flush up against the ceiling. but yeah the actual replacing of the fabric is a piece of cake. i just shouldnt have used fiberglass trying to make the hole the right size... i just want to start over!
