Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...
Ok, I'm done with the engine bay, front end of the car, that is until I get the engine of course
![]() Here's the painted caliper mounted to the hub... mind you the blue in this picture doesn't do justice... this picture makes it look like fag blue... really its a much darker blue in person... ![]() Engine bay pics... yes I know the coolant tank needs to come out so I can put the (freshly painted) motor mount in Also if you look closely enough you'll see the strut towers have rivet nuts in them to support the strut tower bar ![]() don't mind the color of the fuse box cover... it will be painted with black urethane paints to give it a deep lustre. This will be done when I paint the interior pieces, which probably won't happen for a while ![]() ![]() Finally the fans and radiator. Notice the harness is much smaller in diameter now, and if you look where it should plug back into the engine bay harness under the fuse box, only 1 plug is there. This used to be 3 plugs. Now I have ripped out basically all the interior panels. Seats and carpet are still in. Unfortunately, there is no power in the car, and the driver's seat is in a position that won't allow me to remove it. So I either 1) use wrenches to remove (yuck) or 2) hook up the battery charger in "start" mode to the power wires, and move the seat. Engine will be done towards the end of January, and I won't have pics of any of the progress on the engine until after January 18th or so (big business trip coming up)... until then the only progress I'm going to have is redoing the interior (see my other post)...

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...
In case you have not got the seat out yet, you can just hook a battery up to the plug under the seat.

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...
I should get the engine next weekend (finally)... I had to wait on a screw up by Pauter... essentially they had my rods, sent me the wrong ones, then sent my rods to someone else, which at the time was their last set
... The real bum deal is we didn't figure this out until we tried to actually put the engine together and realized the rods weren't the right ones... so after some *****ing and crying I had to wait the 8 weeks for them to re-tool and create a new set of them...I'm going to take at least 1 week to put the engine in... Really I'm not concerned for time, and would rather get evertying perfect. I would be calling for a mod-meet next week at my house to start the installation process, but just in case something comes up with balancing the assembly and putting the engine together I'm going to hold off, until I know for certain... however if you aren't busy next weekend, and wouldn't mind, do keep it open, and I'll post here with more details towards the end of the week.

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...
I'm going to be running the Nautilus Stage 3 kit.
Comes with T3/T4 turbo, External Wastegate, FMIC, and RFL Blow off Valve. The tuning will be done with an Xcal chip. I'm getting the chip which allows you to store 4 extra programs on it, and change the program on the fly. I will also have a 4 stage manual boost controller on it, and n2o just in case I'm not happy enough. The hot side piping is all done, the cold side just needs the piping done for the intercooler, as the intercooler itself is physically larger than the stage 1 and 2 kits.

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...
I want the car to be streetable and have torque at 2500 rpm... GT40 wouldn't start spooling until 4k, and I wouldn't come on full boost until redline... not streetable...
it would allow for nice easy launches and great drag times... but not streetable

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...
Hehe, agreed. It'll make for a fun ride after it spools tho.
