Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...

don't high temp clearcoat anything you don't want to turn a yellowish color... I have seen this done, and it looked like ass.

I would actually have no problem re-polishing the intake yearly, as at that point it will just be 1 - 2 different polishing compounds and the angle die grinder...

Just use a high quality clear and it won't yellow, Puck. Only the cheap **** does that...

Precisely.....I had a buddy do his blower and it looks new to this day. He just wipes dirt and crap off like it's nothing. He also does not have oxidation issues when storing it.

Now that's a piece of Art. You could sell that as modern art.

Good job, I wish I had of spent the time to do mine like that.

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...

I'm going try and find VHT Flameproof clear. I know I have seen VHT caliper paint locally so hopefully I can find the clear coat as well.

Got a little present in the mail. In the form of a pick-up tube and every other little minor part I need to put the engine together. I'm at home working today but my workload looks like so I might just slap on some garage clothes and "work from my garage"... Cordless phones, cell phones and wi-fi make working from home, from any room a breeze

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...

I've been able to drop the engine in the car for a while, I just haven't because I wanted to pick up the turbo from Jason and take a few pictures of it bolted up...

I finally went to Jason's today... here's a couple of pics of the turbo... by the end of the weekend I should have it mounted up to the engine.
