Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...

Doh, went thru my emails and it seems I didn't get DSS shafts -- will have to check my receipts when I get home to see where I finally ordered from (its been awhile).

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...

I can vouch for the upper strut mounts being bent. I dropped by to visit old puck yesterday and see his gutted skeleton and he showed me one. My first reaction was that of "@#$%" then though, well... maybe it came defective... then he showed me it's brother in the same condition and I was speachless and began cursing him out for his driving skills... hehehehe

Well hurry up! I wanna ride already!

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...

Instigator bought the shafts that required custom hubs, the hubs were the problem with that setup. They would strip the splines out of the hubs. Man would that suck!!!

no, the piece of steel is inpregnated into the rubber mount... they don't come apart unless you tear them apart...

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...

Did some painting, have some pics... nothing too special, just a much better looking engine bay and brake calipers...

I still need to hit this with 400 grit, put another thin coat on it, and I may even come around with 600-800 grit afterwards. Finally 2 coats of clear and this part will be done (hopefully today).

here are my brake calipers painted blue. I used the Dupli-Color brush on caliper paint kit. A little more expensive (10$ more), as it comes with a can of brake cleaner (5$ value), but the amount of paint you get, is going to allow me to do all four calipers, and then some. I'm actually considering painting the hubs too. I'm not sure yet, I may actually get Matt or someone to photoshop it, throuh the wheels to see what it looks like. Even if I don't. This paint, is far more durable than the spray on stuff, and gives a better lustre when done. In this pic, they are wrapped in plastic, so overspray from the black engine bay paint won't ruin them.

Re: PuckPuck's insane 3L build...

Can you even see the hubs when the wheels are on?

I used the dupli-colour brush on paint form mine to. I had enough to do all four, I could probably do all four again.
