That doesn't sound positive. I have busted 2 of those lower splash shields to pieces, they are mostly junk.

im tempted to build an aluminum one like E1 but then i think of a cone bashing into the bumper and it would be bad

You don't want to kill cones? I think it would be intersting to see a cone get the ax.

Jaged, the new splash guard I built is much stronger. Two braces on each side (4 total), screwed into the subframe and bolted to the bumper. (I actually think it made my bumper stronger). I haven't taken on any cones, though, so that is a concern... My guess is the cone would fold before the bumper, though. (And no, I won't test that theory for you, heh...)

ive got some storng supports on the sides and the front so thats not an issue for me. im more concerned with sucking in water. they told me i had a lot of water/steam coming out of my tailpipe after going through the standing water

I am all about some good storms around here. I like the rain. Over all I actually like bad weather especially during the work week.
