Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

Bah, what about me, Matt? :P

Btw Matt, I'm still in for the "slow and happy" cruise towards Ohio, even tho I'll be in the Yukon. Doesn't look like I'll get it in to replace the steering gear before fest, so no super-fast highway speeds for me...

Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

hey! theres always enough love for John too!

Things kinda got all messed up here too... Earlier in April I got a flat tire about 1/2 mile from home, and with the car being so low, they couldn't tow it... and to my own stupidity, I didn't have a spare, so I ended up limping the car home at 0.1mph.
Anyway, everything got all fixed and checked out, and I've driven it around a few times, but it has a little bit of a 'wobble' which concerns me enough to not want to drive it 12+hours for the trip. All I think it needs is an allignment, possibly tierod, and if I do that, I might aswell do the rotors too, which have needed replacing for the past year. And unfortunately, the soonest it can be done is the week OF fest.

So it will all be ready for Hamillfest, but for Cougarfest, Jenny has been nice enough to let me do the drive with her
At least I will be there!

Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

ah you feel my pain then!
i didn't want to make a post about it because I refused to admit defeat!! However, it just doesn't look like it will be roadtrip worthy by next week... infact, I just had it out today and didn't get more than 2 minutes from home before I got worried.

Its like... you know when you have warped rotors, and the car shakes when you press the brakes? Its like that... very concerning, and not something I want to worry about 500 miles from home!

If your car doesn't make it either Terry, it sounds like we will be part of a rather large group!
John won't have his, neither will Ryan, Kendra, Tyrice, and i'm sure quite a number of others!

Jason - yep, found nothing that would cause it :-/ me suspects its suspension stuff that I can't see (nor would I ever attempt to fix on my own!)

Hamillfest... it will be there for hamillfest!

Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

my cars been very squirrly at highway speeds since I dropped all those suspension parts on the car... its been great around town [the few times its been driven since august]... that and its the little things that add up like no blinkers.

Eitherway I was really excited to actually have the cougar there this year, first time I have a respectable product to show off. lol, its no longer: Got Stock

Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

yeah! last year my cougar had to make an early departure on the Wednesday before anyone got to see it! (emergency at home, my mom had to take it and come home)
And all the jokes everyone made that "hey! at least you have your R/C car", to which I replied "yeah, well NEXT year for 2007 i'll have my car!"

"the best laid plans..." i guess.

Thats weird to hear about your car though! Its only on the highway that it acts up??
Any ideas? omg...Terry has MODS!! what did you do?

Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

ehhh its just a suspension system that hasnt been dialed in [or had an alignment that I'd actually trust was done correctly].
