Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

Howdy all. Got a great call this morning, looks like an offer letter is being fedex'd to me today from Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, now I have got to figure out how to approach the company I talked to last wednesday about if they are interested and if so that I need an offer by Wednesday or Thursday.

Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

Anyone happen to have a 01/02 tray that mounts under the bumper like the little plastic tray that deflects water and **** down?

Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

I've got the stock piece for a 99, if ya need it. But its actually easier (and better) to just build yer own from a scrap sheet of alum. The stock piece is like furry cardboard -- POS piece...

Ya, I just had my second one get torn off my car (99/00 style) maybe I do just need to get a sheet of alluminum and put it on there. I just don't want to go very long without it and end up sucking some water through the CAI into the brand new engine. Was looking for possibly a 01/02 since I am likely buying a bumper from Kurt and that is an 01/02.

Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

It's doubtful that you'll suck water up there man. My CAI is about 3" from the ground and I've run in pouring rain. (My filter is exposed from the front-left hole in my bumper to the airflow.) Never had a water problem, the length of the pipe and intake pressure isn't enough to suck water that high. Of course, if you're worried you could just get a check-valve, AEM and Injen make them.

This is a very true statement. Now you have me thinking like an engineer again and make me realize it would take a **** load of suction to pull water up a 3 inch pipe. Thanx for slapping some sense into me on this one.

Re: Motor Cities Chat Thread!

Ya, sometimes I wish I could turn off the engineering side of my brain. There's times I'd much rather look at something and go, "Duuuuhhhh..." :P
