What was the problem in yours? just toasted?

I already tried Jason as I am pretty sure he has an extra MTX around still that he would sell off but no answer today.

Ya, figure i'll hear from Jason later on when he gets back into this area.

We'll see, I don't know what to do, I NEED to have a running and driving car no matter what and just don't know the best way to go about this problem.

The problem with mine, was driving it too hard for about 60,000 miles. Was turning around in someones driveway, backed out, shifted into 1st, hit the gas...just got a POP and a little cloud of smoke. The two spider gears became 4 pieces, and I flattened the teeth on the two larger gears in the diff. I now have the broken pieces on my desk at work, reminding me of the $2100 I spent to have it fixed...just to see Jason's trans go up for sale three weeks later.

sounds like a blast. I don't look forward to working on this one.

If jason doesn't have a trans around still I don't know yet how I am going to deal with this one. I know I cna get a brand new Euro Spec trans from Bat for $895 right now which isnt' too bad of a deal.

You have to watch that though. I beleive the Euro spec trans ran a taller gear set (less low end, but lower cuising speeds), than the standard US trans.

Very true...I saw in another thread, you thought it might just be the shifter...it would be nice if that is what is wrong

Ya, sure hope DanG and the guy on CEG that gave me that idea are correct, would be great to avoid having to replace the whole thing.
