same here, theres a way to print out a test page to show how many pages the printer has printed in its lifetime, this ones over a half million and still kicking like a champ

click the "on-line" button [to take it off line]

hit "shift"

hit "Menu" till you get to Printing Menu

hit "Continue" till you get to Self Test

hit "Enter"

on the middle of the page it will say "Page Count: "

and below that is the Firmware Datecode.... my firmware was last updated 1993
