The time has come for a new fuel pump
Well, it finally gave out - on the freeway, Sunday.
Limped home and called Monday to get it replaced. It was replaced by Ford, at no cost to me, sweet!

Re: The time has come for a new fuel pump
For me the first signs that my fuel pump was going out was a loss of power and a stall when I came to a stop on the freeway. When I started again, I could barely get up to 60 mph.
Ford had a recall on the fuel pump, so if yours is an original Ford fuel pump, they should pay for its replacement . Tell your Ford/Mercury service person that you got the letter from Ford about the fuel pump recall, but you could not find it. They should be able to look it up. Good Luck

Re: The time has come for a new fuel pump
Thanks. I am pretty sure it is the fuel pump (early start of it going out) because every time I start it (on a cold start) it boggs down and dies, unles I give it a little gass. I have replaced the fuel filter/spark plugs and wires, and it still does it. So the fuel pump was my other guess.

Re: The time has come for a new fuel pump
OK it wasnt the fuel pump. Get this: It started running like crap one day, no accelleration at all. I popped the hood and low and behold the fricken tube for the air extension was off of the throttle body and half way on it.
I put it back together, and it runs perfect, and even starts perfect now.
