I know what you mean. I was looking at CSVT's and was VERY surprised to see they are generally much cheaper than cougars

Mine was only $2000. Dings and all. I know you can get a nice fresh (5K miles) 3.0L with a LSD on a clean body for ~$5K. That is the plan for this spring....go out to MI trade mine to a guy who builds them along with $3K. Wife said that would be OK as long as it has a working AC

Wait, let me get this straight. You are trading your CSVT that you paid $2K for (dents/dings and all ) and giving him $3K. In return he is giving you another CSVT with a fresh 3L??? If so, that's a pretty good deal!

I want a 3L soooooooo bad However, if I was paying $3,300 (prepped engine + install from Blackcoog), I'd much rather go with a turbo from NPG possibly that supercharger from Blackcoog. Actually.........I'd much rather have a 3L WITH F/I

P.S. - Heidi, Taras, his girlfriend and I will be up in your neck of the woods tomorrow, Friday, Saturday and Sunday We're going camping

Fresh 3L AND a redone transmission with the LSD. I would like a supercharger myself, just for drivability, over the turbo kit. The turbo does make for a much more entertaining drive though.

Where are you going camping? I loves camping. If you are bored, you can always go to Chisholm and the Northern St. Louis County Fair. Not the biggest or best thing in the world, but it is something else to do.

Re: Yup Part II

I'm surprised how much better the resale seems to be on the Cougar vs the Contour when they're pretty much the same car.

I'm thinking 3L + turbo kit for my car

We stayed at Lambs Resort in Schroeder, right by Tofte. A girl was telling me about that fair! We were too busy cliff jumping at Temperance. Where two girls from my church died a couple weeks ago...yeah..found that out AFTER the fact..

There was some cool looking "Maritime" thing going on in Duluth too right? Saw a picture of some neat old ships sailing under the bridge..

Wow!!! 3L + redone tranny + LSD

Sometime in the future I am definitely going to throw a blower on my Cougar. I can't decide between the supercharger or the turbo. A turbo would be hella fun. But, the supercharger would be sick as well.

As far as being bored while camping...that was definitely NOT an issue We had tons of awesome stuff to do. We went kayaking on Fourmile Lake, which for some reason I thought was French and kept thinking it was pronounced Formeel Lake In fact it was Four Mile Lake As Heidi said, we went to Temperance River and went cliff jumping, which was fun as hell! At night we looked at stars, counted satellites and watched shooting stars. We also had lots of fun with the campfire, in fact I think I had a little too much fun with the campfire Anyways, it was an incredible time. I absolutely LOVE the North Shore!

Re: Yup Part II

We had a fire out at a friends cabin last weekend as well. They were supposed to get a 8 gallon keg, but when they got there they said they only had a 16....so that they got that. Good thing I don't drink LOL. Also they got some good fireworks from North Dakota and we fired all of them off

Fire goooooood.

Yeah, I remember hearing about those girls going over the falls....good thing you guys didn't end up doing that

There are both a turbo and supercharger kit for sale on CEG....$2K for either one. I think they are full kits too.
