That happened to my mom and dad in a Canoe one time with a large Northern. All I can say is that the bigger Boston Whaler with a 75 HP motor on it moves like crazy. Crazy part is that it is designed to have up to a 100 HP on it.

Fishing in a canoe/pedal boat is a good time! I went with a canoe (powered by electric trolling motor ) and a couple friends and it was a great time. Canoe almost tipped over countless times.

My dad's 17' is only rated at 80hp, granted thats a tiller though. He has a Lund Pro-v 1775 with a 70hp Evinrude 4 stroke fuel injected

No, that is on the 16.5" Whaler. For a fiber glass boat, it sure does move.....and because it doesn't have a very big V shape does it ever chop across water
