For many decades, Pelican Lake has been a popular stopping point for thousands of white pelicans as they wing their way from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and back again.

The one in Orr, MN? I wanted to see something else in Orr too actually....

Yup. That is it. They are like freakin' pterodactyl's flying out there. With your camera you could get some nice pics.

I normally would prefer to shoot Pelicans with something other than a camera But that's not exactly legal...

Is there a time of year that is best to see a lot of Pelicans? I'd imagine it would be better catching them going South in the fall before winter.

I could take a lot of pictures in this road trip:

But that is down *gasp* a gravel road. I still need to go there, and the wolf one in Ely.

I drive down gravel roads just as fast as a normal person with the Cougar, no worries there

K I want to see these Pelicans too! I'd heard about Pelican Lake but I didn't know it was That crazy..that would be cool to see. So.. if you take the Cougar..maybe we could turn it into a mini-meet!

Nah, I'll buy a peddle boat and strap it to the roof Or add a trailer hitch to the Coug, before I did that though I'd probably just drive the ranger with a peddle boat in the bed.

It's a long haul, but we could probably turn it into a small meet
