More problems!!!!

My drivers side door, On the lock mechanism there are 2 slots, When I put the wire from the lock to the mechanism on the top slot it locks my doors but can NOT open it from the inside only from the outside. Now when I put the wire on the bottom slot my doors do NOT lock and i can open the door from the inside. Its confusing yes I know lol But did anyone ever have that problem? or am i just going insane? I tried so many things and I have teared that door apart and nothing I do makes it work both ways.

I feel ghetto going to places and having to have to roll my window down and open my door from the outside.

well the inner door handle is connected to the lock by a cable ...

Thats what it is, The cable goes into the lock mechanism and either one I put the cable in one thing or the other doesnt work. It is bizarre.
