.::NECO Lounge Rules::. (11/21/05)

Neco Lounge CARDINAL RULE - This folder is not intended for automotive-based questions of which you don't know which folder they belong. If it is about a Cougar, please put it in the proper folder. If it's about about any other motorized mode of transportation, it goes in Garage Talk. We've been moving such threads until this point, but starting now they will simply be deleted. Thanks for your cooperation.

1. All threads must have their subject matter clearly stated in the title.

2. If you see a thread that may contain something that will offend you (based on the first rule), don't read it and then complain about it. Not everyone is offended or uncomfortable with the same things you are.

In other words... IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T READ IT!

3. No porn, nudity, illegal activity or any material of graphic nature. (i.e. boobies, nekkidness, dead bodies, software piracy, drugs, severed limbs, etc...).

4: Threads must have a point or some usefulness to members (i.e. help with college, computers, collectibles)
4a: No blank replies with only a quote from a previous poster.
4b: No replies that are ONLY an emoticon
4b.1: No replies that are ONLY an emoticon after a quote - quoting someone is NOT part of your reply.
4c: A thread may not be started with ONLY a Youtube video as the first post. You must provide some commentary as to why you are posting said video.

5: No flaming or personal attacks. It's about discussion not trying to prove your internet muscles are stronger then someones. (If you have a problem take it to PM's)
5a. No bashing on basis of gender, religion, race, sexual orientation, or political party. Violations of this will result in strikes. This includes slurs.

6: If a thread is something you wouldn't want to be seen reading in public or at work, label the thread "NSFW" (not safe for work). This does not mean you can go around rule #3.

7: Do not try to go around the censor engine. If you type in a word & the board replaces it with "[censored]" then don't try to change it so it can be displayed.

8: The NECO Lounge does not adhere to the same 'ex post facto' laws that the government does. We aren't the government and we don't care. If a rule is made as a result of a situation, then the posts made before the rule was created will be deleted as rule-breaking and/or offensive content.

9: Please do not flaunt your short attention span. If you feel a post is too long for you to want to read it, simply move on. You're not doing anybody any good by whining about how you refuse to read said post due to its length. Do not ask for cliffnotes. Just turn off the MTV for a few hours and maybe your attention span will return. Posts that complain about the length of messages or cliffnotes requests may be deleted without notice.

10: NECO Lounge moderators reserve the right to delete or edit any individual post (or group of posts) for whatever reason they deem necessary. This could be to eliminate 'chatting' from a thread, to counteract thread hijacking, or to counteract those posters that may have any other personal, political, or religious agenda that will do nothing to add to the thread.


There will be strict enforcement of these rules by Moderators & Admins.

Check these rules periodicly for updates. If we feel we need to clarify something based on events it will be added here. (This thread will have "UPDATED x/xx/xx" in its title)

Moderators have final say here. If a thread is deleted, trimmed or locked do not start a new thread stating your distaste for their decision.

The bottom line is use common sense.

If you find these rules to hard to adhere to, or want a place where you can cut loose and be bashed by the members as well as the mods then I suggest you visit www.offtopic.com.

The site is free to join (when registration is open) and you have to spend some time in the newbie section before the other sections are opened to you. Or you can buy an avatar/subscription (omg! Those fiends!) which will gain you instant access to the whole board. Including pr0n.

There are a few NECO members there already, tho most just acknowledge each other in posts rather than cruise in packs like here.
