Google crapping out?

It's not a good thing when google goes down, because then you need to find somewhere else to google so you can find out wtf is going on.

back in the day when the internets were young there was, and still is yahoo.com

I prefer the minimalism of google, where you have a choice of a functional homepage, with yahoo your blasted with depressing news, weather, and ads.
