Crysis - PC

Anyone else play this?

I was very curious to see how my pc would do. Not quite as good as I hoped.

I can play smoothly at 1280x1024 with the default settings. Normally I've always been able to max out the resolution and not have any problems with gameplay. This game is nuts though.

I really like the idea of the suit. Same idea as a nano-suit, if anyone ever read about it before. Which would be the coolest thing in the world if they actually ever made one.

Anyway. Here's my rig.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ (2.6Ghz)
2.0Gb PC6400 DDR2
Asus M2R32-MVP (crossfire ready)
ATI x1800 crossfire edition
Raptor 74Gb Raptor

I think I'll add another vid card and a couple more gbs or ram and see how she does. This is the first game I haven't been able to run balls out. It is nearly a year and a half old now.

Re: Crysis - PC

Just so you know, I'm not aware of any computer in the world that has been able to run Crysis on MAX resolution on all settings without severe FPS problems. Its a heavy game. I had a friend show me his rig (he has a Crossfire, multiple video cards, all kinds of stuff, and he can only run Medium).

Re: Crysis - PC

Makes sense enough. The 'ultra high' resolution settings were all grayed out under the game settings menu.

I guess I can go back to playing COD4 and Tiberium Wars maxed out. They still look amazing and run very nice.

Re: Crysis - PC

I played it half way through a couple of times, but the alien **** just gets boring.

I run it on medium/high at 1680x1050. No AA, but I think AF was up a little.

e8400 @ 4.0ghz
780i mobo
(2) 8800gt's in SLI
4gb DDR2-1066
Raptor 150gb
Vista x64 Ultimate

Definitely runs better than it did at launch. It'll be nice when GPU hardware actually catches up to this game
