Anyone play the keyboard/piano?
I'm just getting into it, and I like it a LOT. I'm trying to play for a little while each day, but the coordination between my left and right hands is so damn synched! I can't shake the tendency of my left hand to play at the same tempo as my right hand...I can only play left hand "bass" melodies if the notes are on the same beat as a right hand note, you know?
I love it either way.

Re: Anyone play the keyboard/piano?
I took piano lessons when I was a kid. Now I play guitar and dabble with the keyboard too. I'm hoping to write a lullaby for my son after he's born.

Re: Anyone play the keyboard/piano?
You should all consider purchasing what you need to expand your musical abilities; maybe I'm just weird but the satisfaction that I gain from learning to play something is...well, enough to make me keep playing!
I would enjoy hearing a sample of your lullaby when you make it thousandlegs; when's the kid due?

I took piano lessons for a few months as a kid.. quit because the lessons were boring, then I taught myself. I was in a band in HS and I was singer/keyboardist.. Now I wanna pick up a usb keyboard I can use to record some tracks..

Re: Anyone play the keyboard/piano?
I can sight read music for piano. I never bothered practicing for lessons. I never bothered doing any kind of homework before college, actually...
I stick with classical music, mostly. But I'm not very good at that tempo thing. I play Feur Elise WAY faster than it should be.

Re: Anyone play the keyboard/piano?
I took piano lessons as a kid. In the 5th grade I picked up the trumpet. 9th grade I discovered that girls like guitar so I learned acoustic. I never acceled in a single instrument, but I can play all of them well enough. I'm about to purchase some bag pipes.
If I didn't learn piano first I'd be lost right now. I got good enough of guitar to play chords on guitar then figure out the chords on piano, now I play by ear and transfer guitar music to piano and vice versa.
