credit score
so I went to free credit report.com and decided to see what my credit score was. I was curious since I have never purchased taken out a loan for a car under my name, and only have a couple credit cards.
come to find out, my score is a 765 out of 830 ![]() I was surprised to see it be that high. I'm kinda excited about that one. not bad for a kid just out of college |

Re: credit score
annualcreditreport.com is the better site.
That's a nice score. Check it again when you make some big purchases. ![]()

Re: credit score
You should run all 3 bureaus...
But remember there's more to credit than just the score. Debt to Income ration, revolving debt, available credit, and general history. I know people with high 700 credit scores who have been denied auto loans, or received very high rates. And others with a mid-upper 600 credit score that received top top tier rates for their loans. 1 very good thing to do is try to keep several accounts with 1 bank... ie. Checking/Savings/Car Loan/Mortgage/Credit Card, etc... if you have a good history with 1 bank, and for whatever reason your Credit score falls due to other loans not going so well, your primary bank will typically approve you when you are in need. either way... that's a good score... It is very important to keep your credit good. I recently purchased a home, and my credit score/history was perfect, so I was able to receive a mortgage immediately for up to 95% of the value of the home. I also did not need to provide references, proof of occupation, proof of income or anything.

Re: credit score
keep in mind that when you check your credit score it actually can lower it a small amount.

Re: credit score
I am seeing high 6's and low 7's getting turned down for loans everyday where i work, Sucks to see people unable to get money for big purchases. That being said yours is higher than mine is right now

Re: credit score
I have been monitoring my credit score monthly for the past 6 years using products offered by all 3 major credit reporting bureaus. They each offer roughly the same service, but charge different amounts. I recently switched to myFico.com and am VERY pleased. Monitoring reports are much cleaner and I get updates each time my score changes.
Keep in mind that the single largest factor affecting your FICO score is your debt to income ratio ... your score is so high because you probably don't hold a lot of dept vs. your income ... once you become a homeowner, that will change ![]()
