Unfortunately, that video actually shows what some Democrats really think. Try reading Slashdot comments some time, for example. But there are plenty of Republicans that actually think insane things like that about Democrats, too. Read about some of the complaints sent to the FCC for stuff on television, for example. I didn't see the video as satirical because there are plenty of people who really do believe those things.

It's sort of like Scientology. If we didn't know better, we'd think the entire religion was satirical... but it's actually quite real.

But I only watched a few seconds of the video. Perhaps the satire came out more later.

You don't only have two choices. You're more then welcome to form your own party and get on the ballot! Green party or American Socialist Party or Libretarian party anyone?

you just need to gain your fellow support for your group, and that can be tough.

Ron Paul would have made a great candidate and I considered myself a Libretarian until I actually watched the convention.... eh. yea. Unfortunately, the ideologies of Ron Paul don't mesh with a good majority of the nation and he's labeled as bat**** crazy.

if you were to ask some random people off the street and asked if they:

1. oppose the war in Iraq

2. want strong economy based on strong dollar

3. want to end our premption foreign policy


i would say majority would be for all three points.

The only way you can allow people to opt out is to have some way to know that they are taking care of it themselves. They can't just opt out to use the money for a big tv. Otherwise, you'll just end up with a bigger social burden when they file for unemployment.
