Floods.

So as you know floods suck. period. And my house was threatened by the Upper Iowa River flooding it out but luckily i didn't get flooded out. But i did have a surprise of it, yesterday i went out on the kayak and as soon as i got out there i noticed something hidden in the weeds of a grassy island in the middle of the river. So i went over to it and o my gosh it was an atv.

So you get the boys together and you go out there and you get that bad boy right? RIGHT!, so me and another guy went out there and lifted the sucker up and we pushed it about all the way across the river and pulled it outa there with a truck, now i have a nifty 2002 Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. for the win! Heh i know the guy that owns it, but he reported it stolen years ago and well, he can be an ass so if we get it running we might tell him, or we might not, beats me. If we do tell him and he does decide he wants it back, he's gunna pay us for pulling that sucker out cause i frozeded my chilanglang off getting that... damn 45°F water.. -.-

The New Wheeler

the flood at its peak by my house, keep in mind thats suppose to be a field, and those trees is where the river runs by, and it was 3 feet below the bank by the day before.

So let me get this straight...You pillaged some dude's ATV, in which case is still reported as stolen, AND you know the guy?

Glad you don't live in PA.

Re: Floods.

You're a douche.

I've had a dirt bike stolen. It pissed me off to no end. Perhaps the thing broke down, or someone had to leave it there for whatever reason, and now you took it. Either way, if you keep it that's considered theft. Most atv's are worth well over $500, so that's a felony!

Re: Floods.

If he reported it stolen then it's the insurance companies now (provided it was insured and he was reimbursed).

If it was just reported stolen and not insured, then I'd give it back as if he sees it an recognizes it you can be screwed. But to my knowledge you don't have to register these things.

"he reported it stolen years ago "

Well then tell him it washed up during the flood & your keeping it. He tries to be a jerk tell him you'll get him for insurance fraud.

lol My old CanAm Bombadier was stolen from a "friends" house & well I got my payback for it. Although I'd still like to have the bike back....30+yrs old & only had 250 miles on it.

Without making a moral judgment , possession of stolen property is itself illegal.
