Re: Floods.

i would tell him that you have it before you even attempt to get it running so that you can tell him it is not worth **** and also so you don't wast any more time on it if he indeed wants it back.

then i would offer HIM $20 to keep it since you pulled it out of the water and he wasn't really going to get anything back from it if it wasn't for you anyways.

atv's are sick, my best friend who doesn't know how to ride almost killed himself on one the other day and flipped it on himself be careful.

If he doesn't want to compensate you for retrieving it then tell him where he can go find it.

Re: Floods.

I wonder if anyone on here finds your admission stupid enough to take the time and effort to find out which of the 64 Elsbernd's in IA you are, and send a copy of this thread to your local police department/sheriff's office. I'm sure with your IP address it wouldn't be too difficult to figure out. Though, its not like you came on here and admitted to cheating on your fiance with your ex girlfriend and one of us telling her about it

...that'd be some decent karma there, lol.

Re: Floods.

Hey little boy, are you ABSOLUTELY SURE its reported as "stolen years ago"? It'd be hilarious if that just turned out to be a baseless rumor. No matter how you slice it, it does not belong to you, and you have no right to keep it.

****ing kids.

Re: Floods.

Technically all you have to do is report that you have a found ATV. Scratch off the VIN number that way its untraceable and after a certain wait period it becomes yours.

I am not a lawyer

scratch off the VIN number and keep the ATV. It's pretty much untraceable then. I would also go ahead and maybe repaint some of the fenders or write your name under the seat lol.

In actuality, you should call the guy and tell him you found his ATV and then spread the parts all over the lake. Not technically theft, right? Just being a d-bag

... Not that I'm giving advice for fraud or theft.

Honestly. Why would you do this.

I don't understand people that find something and greedily claim it for their own. Put yourself in the other guys shoes, I'm sure he'd like to have it back.

Because there are way too many people who are less than honorable/resemble scum on the face of the earth these days. It's sad that a portion of our society has stooped to this level.

There are LEGAL ways to claim "found property," but doing what he is doing or what the other douche suggested are hardly amung them. Sigh.

So i went over to it and o my gosh it was an atv.

So you get the boys together and you go out there and you get that bad boy right? RIGHT!, so me and another guy went out there and lifted the sucker up and we pushed it about all the way across the river and pulled it outa there with a truck, now i have a nifty 2002 Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. for the win! Heh i know the guy that owns it, but he reported it stolen years ago and well, he can be an ass so if we get it running we might tell him, or we might not, beats me. If we do tell him and he does decide he wants it back, he's gunna pay us for pulling that sucker out cause i frozeded my chilanglang off getting that... damn 45°F water.. -.-

The New Wheeler

the flood at its peak by my house, keep in mind thats suppose to be a field, and those trees is where the river runs by, and it was 3 feet below the bank by the day before.
There are plenty of legal ways to claim lost/stolen property, but since you're going to be stupid about it AND post it to an internet forum, I'm going to quote it to preserve it for all time.

May this thread receive a million linkbacks.
