Dear Sir,
I cordially invite you to join ND4SPD and I in preparation for the seemingly inevitable machine apocalypse. We maintain an ongoing list of links that prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that James Cameron's fever dream inspired movie will one day become reality and are attempting to prepare ourselves for all possible situations. You are more than welcome to join us if you too fear a machine apocalypse. thanks, BigBalledOX

Indeed... no longer is it the zombies whom will be the apocalyptic bringers of doom. Its only a matter of time before some 'genius' comes up with a chip that makes them self-aware and capable of making their own decisions.

Re: What do World Governments learn from Post -Apocalyptic movies?
So where is the fall back position gonna be, IL or Canada?
Nice toys Norcal. I think a shotty blast to the optics would render one of those useless unless it had other sensing devices. BTW, that "dog" slipping on the ice brought tears to my eyes ! I posted in half-jest.....but seriously, why does it seem that the military sees something like the Terminator and gets a "Now there's an great idea" moment? They even named the damn thing SKYNET!! If I didn't have to live with the consequences, I'd wish that this would come back and bite them in the ass.

Re: What do World Governments learn from Post -Apocalyptic movies?
i believe I said the exact same thing "They even named the damn thing Skynet!" Theres also some Japanese computer tech company that deals with robots with that name...Its funny though, it started out with Ryan and I just having conversations about the Terminator storyline, but in the past 12 months, it seems like there are some technology news stories that are SO in line with the movie its somewhat alarming! They've got the global satellite network, the ultra fast fiber-optic network to send data instantly, the super-computers to process the data, a world simulator to run scenarios and predict reactions, and now the robots are always being developed. I mean, wtf... are they deliberately TRYING to follow the movie story point for point? ![]() |

Re: What do World Governments learn from Post -Apocalyptic movies?
I remember years ago hearing about some company in Japan that was growing human brain cells on silicone wafers or something like that. I feel like Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park...that these people are more concerned about WHAT can be done instead of SHOULD it be done.
