Re: I hate getting presents...
yeah right now im considering empire state building and a walk around the city, wax museum, time square, rockefeller, grand central park?... definately a dinner somewhere... 99cougarsupreme if you can suggest any nice places for a dinner that would be great... nothing ridiculously fancy but you know, a little above the average would be nice =)) so yeah that should be a handful for one day, didnt really think about the line to the top of the empire state building though... I went there once a really long time ago, back when the twin towers were still up, the lines didnt seem that big... and yeah i did think about the beach and the boardwalk but idk we go there alot anyway its only like 10 mins away from me.. seaside, pt.pleasant.. belmar.. been everywhere lol and theres really not that much to do there... thanks for all the suggestions guys keep em coming hahah =D

Re: I hate getting presents...
If she's into Broadways, one place you could take her to eat is the Life Cafe down on 10th St. It's the cafe that is featured in Rent.
I also always hear about Basso56 in Midtown as being really good. I knows it's a more upscale Italian restaurant. Basso 56 - Italian Cuisine My friends and I always either go up to Dallas BBQ or RUB when we go up. Dallas BBQ is actually right across from madam Tussauds Wax Museum - but it's probably not as upscale as you're looking for.

Re: I hate getting presents...
Sheesh I wish my boyfriend would plan something for my birthday... he kinda did this last one, but it was more of a - wow your birthdays suck, I'm sorry. We should do something, call up your friends - and I had to arrange everything and plan it all out. I'd love it if I came home one day, special occasion or not, and my boyfriend was like we're going ______.
So yeah kudos to you for even thinking about this ![]() |

At that point it's up to him to decide to do it. But don't be disappointed if you have expectations without communicating them.

He tells me he's just not very romantic and doesn't think of things like that. I just don't make a big deal of it, because it's not a big deal. Sure I'd love for him to do something big, but eh he does lots of small nice things for me every day. And if I had to chose over a few big suprises over all the small things he does for me, I'd pick the small things ![]() |

Re: I hate getting presents...
I know from experience, Girls SAY they like being surprised, but the surprise better be something they like, it isn't the thought the counts.

Re: I hate getting presents...
hmm this thread just made me remember my anniversary a week from today.
Crap what do you get a woman who is 8-1/2 months pregnant... besides food? I'm already paying off her damn credit card. Think I could give her a card with a check in it to her credit card company and say... "Surprise". I'm thinking a night in a hotel and a nice dinner is what I'll have to put together real quick. Time to get something together on Expedia.

Definitely send her off to a spa to get a foot massage or pedicure or whatever. The gift doesn't have to be something you both do together.
