Boot from CD without adjusting BIOS???

I know this is already resolved, but I just wanted to point out that as kaupov pointed out the fact that you were getting the prompt to press any key to boot from the CD the systems bios was already set to boot from CD. Additional booting from floppies would not work because you would still be in an DOS environment that did not have drivers for the USB keyboard, and you would still need to be able to type in the command line to begin the setup. Lastly, and its been a really long time since I have initiated a Windows setup from within Windows, but I believe you could have just started the setup from within Windows. When you told it you wanted to do a format and full reinstall of Windows it should have rebooted from the CD without the prompt to press any key and start the Windows setup like you wanted. Although I'm still not 100% sure that without legacy USB support if you would have been able to do anything in the Windows setup environment.

You are right, I forgot that it is possible to start Windows setup from Windows environment, but I think it is possible to use USB keyboard at fresh install because Windows setup loads a lot of drivers before any user input. Of course it depends on motherboard also.
