My new Katana

Is being shipped to me at the moment, and I am pretty excited to get it. It's nothing too fancy, but all I wanted was a sword that looked nice and could cut some stuff in the backyard, so this fits the bill nicely.

Anyone have any katanas to show off? A good friend of mine had a cheap set of stainless ones from a flea market and then picked up a decent Masahiro sword, and I can't help unsheathing it everytime I visit. That is what made me want to pick up one.

i've got a rambo knife i could post pictures of, my mom use to own a knife and sword shop and i've got all shorts of knifes and swords, i actully sold 4 of the lord of the rings swords and made $1,200 on the 4

i broke a few swords hacking up tree branches in the backyard, its pretty fun though until i seen the neighbor watching me, lol

I love how they claim "Forged Battle-Ready swords", but nothing they have is more than $300.

You're not going to get true battle-ready folded steel swords for that much- simple cut/forged steel isn't going to last very long against, say, another blade or real work.

At least it's full-tang which will help it live much longer. Just don't hit anything with it that's too hard, or you may end up with a shattered blade and wondering why you've got metal sticking out of your shoulder.

I love that qvc clip. But this sword is a heat-tempered carbon-steel blade, that just won't happen. There's a review of it on sword-buyers-guide.com, or something along those lines. If this ever sees "battle" it will be more like "intimidation", if someone with a knife or something tries to rob my house (99.999 % chance of not ever happening )

I just want something that will be on display 95% of the time, and can cut through tatami or bamboo without breaking a sweat.

And no, no star wars kid for me!
