Re: For the Wii People

Sold my Wii. Didn't play it anymore. Actually selling my xbox360 right now. But I have to say Mario kart Wii, SSBB, and Zelda were great games. Only thing I have against Wii Fit is well I'm not gonna spend money on a game to make myself work out, which I already do. So just get off your lazy butt and do push-ups on your own!

But $100 for the Wii fit vs over $1K for annual gym memberships for everyone in our house is a HUGE savings. After sweating it out on that thing for close to 2 hours last night, I find myself far more motivated to play the Wii than go to the gym.

One of the things I find motivating is pushing myself harder and harder to be the top scorer in the house. Even the girlfriends son was playing it for close to 3 hours trying to unlock everything and beat my scores, he did, then I played to try and beat his scores, it's amazing how fast you start jogging or stepping just to see your character in first place. Kinda like the arcade feature here.

BTW - Wii's here are around $300 by the time you add taxes etc and they are pretty much available everywhere. Last time I was in Toy's R Us there were 6 Wii's on the shelf. The Wii Fit's are selling out within an hour or so here now though.

Oh I don't goto the gym. I just jog, push ups and sit ups every night before i sleep. I would never spend money at a gym. And yeah you can find a Wii just about anywhere now. If you're into games and got the time its worth checking one out.

Re: For the Wii People

I barely play mine. I have had DRIVER for 2 months and haven't even opened it. GTAIV ruled the roost for awhile.

Re: For the Wii People

I Love my Wii. I like playing the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and MarioKart. I love the Wii fit. I have used it for 3 weeks now and have lost 5 to 7 lbs (my down fall is sweets)
Good luck finding a Wii.

Re: For the Wii People

hijack

so is wii fit kinda like old school NES track and field with the power pad? I used to play for hours. I did cheat alot on the long jump, jump forward off the amt and then backwards a couple seconds later.

I could never figure out why I could runa 6 second 100M dash on the power pad but was the slowest kid at school LOL

/hijack

I'm gonna buy a wii when I move.

Re: For the Wii People

Kinda like the power pad...but alot more advanced.

Wii Fit measures alot of your bodies characteristics, mainly focusing on your balance and center of gravity. In the 7 days I've been playing it for an hour a day I have lost 4-6 pounds. It weighs you, it measures your center of gravity basically and incorperates your balance into about 9 different games. Then you have strength training, aerobics, and Yoga on there as well. I find the Yoga good for stretching, then do the aerobic boxing (which is kinda like the old Tie Bo minus the kicking). In all honesty I find my knee doesn't hurt as much now after an ACL injury when I was young because I'm not walking on my right leg as much as I used to. I know it's only been a week, but you start thinking about alot of things with it.

And the boxing with weights is a killer, especially when you "free for all" at the end of a round.
