tell me about it, id be so furious! good thing is that trucks are targeted much more than cars for obvious reasons. id imagine a lowered car would probably be pretty far down their list, lol.

I worry about that with my camper. I can slide under there no problem.

And there's really no way to prevent it.

how much do you get for a catalytic converter? I have a van Im going to be stripping down to part it out. Im curious how much more profitable it would be to take the radiator and muffler, cat converter, junk like that and just sell it as scrap.

Hmmm...I like it! I can recoup some of the power lost when Ford put EFI on those engines. Except that I have to go through emissions every two years, and they actually do a tailpipe test to my camper. Plus other campers probably wouldn't like it when I drove into/out of the campgrounds, especially if I leave in the early morning...

Re: Is this nation wide?!

cat converters are good money. Platinum inside.

and they started mixing zinc with copper for pennies back in 88 or so.

Re: Is this nation wide?!

Our area has had a lot of incidents with the trigger wire being stolen from railroad crossings. Turns out they have done this all around the area and made about 6k just from selling the wire.
