Re: Operation Color Conversion -LED SWAP PICS AND GUIDE-
Ok I did my wifes cr with pink 5mm leds, yeah I know they were way too big. The only place I ran into trouble was the trip computer buttons. I drilled out the back side of the switch to accomodate the larger leds. Looks great.
Thanks ALL |

Re: Operation Color Conversion -LED SWAP PICS AND GUIDE-
I'll sticky it now. Note that it's a good how-to tutorial and well-documented, however, there are some other easier ways of doing some of the LED swaps. Just don't get too hung up on following it exactly to the letter. I've done all my own swaps ( obviously ) longer before this tutorial and 90% of how mine was done was different from the instructions here. Regardless, there's more than one way to skin a cat. Pick your path.

will a resistor work higher than 330 ohm work? like about 510 ohm 1/4 watt? I think that was what they shipped me?

Re: Operation Color Conversion -LED SWAP PICS AND GUIDE-
Definitely. In fact, I shun the idea of using a 330 ohm resistor. 510 is a much safer value without losing any noticable brightness.

Re: Operation Color Conversion -LED SWAP PICS AND GUIDE-
You're welcome. Most of the batch buys of LEDs from Hong Kong include free resistors. Just a comment, the ones they provide are usually extremely low grade with very thin metal legs on them. I'd suggest spending the $5 or so to just by a bag of 100 resistors from like Jameco or Digikey and get some 1/2 watt ones to be safe. Just my $0.02.
