RE: Operation Color Conversion - LED SWAP
I'll give credit where credit is due. You are probably the only one who has gone as far as mine for LED conversions. All my interior lights have been replaced and dozens more added.
Some constructive criticism though, in your .DOC file, you stated that the resistor MUST go on the positive side... makes no difference what side it goes on. If you don't believe me, try it. Also, I noticed you overworked yourself in alot of the mods. Before modding the hell out of everything, try to make use of what's already there to save you time and energy. For example, your headlight switch... You hot glued and LED and resistor into the cavity. That is probably a pain to do since you have to aim it perfectly and hold it in place. Too much work... just pull the bulb out of the socket, solder an LED ( proper polarity ) into the existing socket which just twists and locks into place and then cut one of the 2 wires going to the socket and solder an LED inline and tape it up! Voila... takes 2 mins and has the same effect and isn't so difficult to do. Same with the HVAC and others. I saw some people making full perferated circuit boards to fit inside the HVAC with LEDs all over it... no way! Just pull the bulbs and solder the LEDs in their place and put a resisor in series on EITHER leg... doesn't matter. Here's some examples.. you can see the black bulb holders where the bulb was and I've put the LEDs in it's place and what it looks like when the bulb socket is reinstalled. Link to HVAC mod
