    Rear seat clips...

The lower half of the rear seats is held down with 2 clips in the front. Does anyone know if those are a one-time use thing or if there's a method to get them to clip in properly?

Mine aren't locking in so I replaced them with a set from a junker and have the same issue. So I assume something is being damaged when they are first pulled out of their retainers.

The silly little clips break. To get the seat base to lock in you do have to push them corners down hard but if the clips have broken they'll need changing. There's a few Ford dealers here in the UK that still supply them for a few pounds. Think unpaid about £6 plus postage for mine about 2 years ago. They've not increased in price that I'm aware of.

Same - once removed, I was never able to get the seats secure again.

Cursed things. Guess I'll pay the Ford tax. Sick of hearing them rattle going over bumps.

How do you get the rear seats out without breaking those things, anyway?

There's probably a special way you can get a flathead screwdriver in there. It has that flat piece on the back that probably pries it apart enough to lift the metal latch out and leaves the clip.

Or, at just under $5/ea from Ford you buy 2 new ones and just tear them out.

    Re: Rear seat clips...

Well, I already installed the new ones. When you pull the lower half of the seats up in the front you're going to have either white or black clips attached to metal loops. Pop them off with a flat head and install the new ones into the sheet metal before dropping the seat back in.

You can try and find another way to pop them off. Maybe the Ford CD mentions it.

I've been wondering about that for a while now and thought I just did it wrong. It seems any sort of plastic clip in this car is a one time use part. Anyone know the part number for the clips that hold up the hatch liner?
