for those who have a carbon fiber cargo cover

How exactly did you install it? This may be a dumb question but when I bought my car it didnt have a cover. I recently picked up a carbon fiber one and understand that the metal bars go in the slots but it doesnt sit right by just the metal bars. It slopes down in the back and bounces while driving. I did notice that most covers had 2 points where there are strings that went to the trunk lid for more support. Did most people drill into the carbon and reinstal these strings? Or is there a different way? If you have one installed could you post up a picture? I just dont want to drill it if I dont have to. Also I dont have the string pieces that most original covers had... so if someone has a set I would like to buy them from you. Thanks

Re: for those who have a carbon fiber cargo cover

there's a rubber peice that goes onto the bars the hold it in place better, the strings just make the cover go up when the hatch opens.

Re: for those who have a carbon fiber cargo cover

just take the strings off the circle things and pull the whole cargo cover towards you and it will come right out, its pretty easy stuff

I think you misunderstood me...

My car never came with a cargo cover... I recently bought a carbon fiber cover but it doesnt fit correctly because I dont have the original rubber things or the strings that the original covers came with. I was trying to see if there were other options to installing this without having those pieces. I know how to put it in and all but it jjust isnt sitting correctly without the orginal hardware!

Re: for those who have a carbon fiber cargo cover

Did you try your local junkyard, or someone who is parting out? You may be able to get something at the hardware store but I can't think of what it would be. Would you like pictures so that you can decide?

Re: for those who have a carbon fiber cargo cover

Hmm, depending on what you need I may have it. I've got two hatch cover pieces, only one has the strings. Neither have any pieces with bouncing though. If you'd like, I can send you the rubber pieces off one of the hatch pieces. Lemme know if that's exactly what you need and I'll give you a shipping quote.

And yes if you have the rubber things and the string pieces I would take them off your hands.
