Help removing door lock key cylinder

My key lock froze and I need to replace it. I've remove the door panel and the sqaure-holed plastic with the metal rod attached to it, that is press fitted onto the end of the lock cylinder. I cannot figure out how to remove the key cylinder from the plastic housing it in encased in. Some help? please

Re: Help removing door lock key cylinder

Looked it up on Alldata & it says to remove the whole handle. From there, on the lock cylinder there is a little tab/tag that you bend upwards & then you just push the lock cylinder out of the handle.

Thanks kpeeks, that means I'd have to remove a bolt that's very hard to get to...thanks for the info.

Re: Help removing door lock key cylinder

actually you need to remove the handle cover and slide the actual handle to where the cylinder is exposed through the handle hole. Stick the key in and pull the cylinder straight out towards you.

The bolt that seems hard to get to is covered by a rubber grommet and you get at it with an extension.
