guage question
Im sorry if this has been covered a million times but i searched and didnt come up with anything. Im looking to install guages like air/fuel and so on in the cougar the only thing is that i dont like the look of the pillar style guages but i love the look og putting the guages in the air conditioning vents. ive only seen this once on a video on you tube on a turbocharged cougar. Mine is a 2000 v6 atx so if anyone could help me or if theres a possible diy on how to go about doing this please lead me in the right direction.

Re: guage question
well ill tell you this, i have them like that in my 3L and depending on where you are located you dont want to do it. even with my ductwork blocked off i get a bit of condensation on the inside of them.
you really dont need a a/f. the best thing you can have is a trans temp, volt, and oil pressure. being a na atx you dont need anything else. but if you do mount them in the vents you have to take the vents out, and make something to hold them in place. i made pieces out of aluminum

Re: guage question
if you're looking to do that, I would suggest doing an MTX swap. I love my ATX, but let's be honest, she's fun to drive but at the end of the day, she doesn't perform like her MTX counterpart.

Re: guage question
ahaha i only wish i could do a mtx swap but i have feeling its gonna cost over 1000 and i dont have the money for that plus isnt it hard to find a mtx? or is thta a atx for a 4cyl i cant remember. but yeah id love the car so much more if it was a mtx the fact that they arent considered fast doesnt make it not a fun car to drive but when you take the manual gearbox out of the equation it really just doesnt help lol.

Re: guage question
I gotta throw my 2 cents in. I think the gauges you can put on the left side of the windshield in those holsters that grab onto the plastic are really, really nice looking. They don't get in the way and they're right at eye level. I'm still deciding on a single or a double holder depending on if I can get my hands on a current gauge or if I want to put an airflow sensor one in for my custom forced induction mod I'm planning.
Btw try not to get sunpro gauges, they kinda suck. They fog up and the needle moves a lot when you go over bumps and stuff. As for putting them in the air vents, idiotic! Then you can't have AC or heat blowing on you! WTF!

Re: guage question
I think it might be on KKO, they have guage holders that replace your passenger airbag cover. Might want to look into that if you don't like the A pillar look, and apparently putting them in the vents isnt the best idea.
