Re: How To: End the ATX 1-2 Bang Shift!!!

Well I got the sensor and installed it. Battery was unhooked and everything reset and sure enough it is still there. I notice when I put it in drive it will buck into gear at times but other gears are fine. The fluid seems good doesn't smell burnt but I was gonna change it anyway cause I am not sure when it was done last. There is no slipping that I can feel. It is only a hard shift between 1 and 2 with a little buck when downshifting into 2 on throttle. I was thinking maybe a roll resistor mount?? The front one looks okay but I haven't looked the back yet. I will reset the computer one more time but I don't think it will help.

Sounds like what I need.

Is there a reason why I can't see the pics?

WOA!!!

No wonder I couldn't see them. :D

Can someone pls post them again? I am mechanically challenged but I do think is worth to try this before I take the car somewhere else. Looking at the step by step pics will definitely help. I figured that if it doesn't work it will be $ 20.00 and 15 mins of my time.

Re: How To: End the ATX 1-2 Bang Shift!!!

Sort of a road tale, but when I swapped the sensors back in July of 03, the stock Cougar jack sunk into the pavement and failed when I ran upstairs to get something.....Coug came crashing down on the rotor.
I managed to get my ex-gf's jack under it only for it to fail too.

Luckily the rotor was fine.

Re: How To: End the ATX 1-2 Bang Shift!!!

Changed my sensor a while back and made no difference at all. Still a bump shift between 1-2 and changed the fluid as well and still the same thing. I guess this doesn't work in all cases.

Re: How To: End the ATX 1-2 Bang Shift!!!

Update: Just found out my front and rear roll resistors are toast so i am really wondering if that is causing my bump shift and sometimes clunking when put in D from Park. Everything else checks out. Guess my sensor wasn't bad to begin with?
