Re: How To: End the ATX 1-2 Bang Shift!!!
Alot of Gunk & WD40 moved it, then it popped out easy...will report back when I take a long test drive.
PS: it took alot of twisting, just do it slowly and eventually it will pop out. Last edited by Colleptic; 09-17-2006 at 06:38 PM. |

Re: How To: End the ATX 1-2 Bang Shift!!!
I ordered the part from Fordpartsonline.com. Just copied and pasted the item # right in the search field. I got the part in last week and its NO WHERE near the right size to fit into the spot. I was wondering if it can be shaved down to fit in, OR should I send it back and wait for a different one?

Re: How To: End the ATX 1-2 Bang Shift!!!
yea i removed the old one. I needed to put it back in because i needed to drive the car, so there is no compare and contrast picture, but i can post a picture of the new sensor. I also noticed that the metal tab on it where the screw goes in is at a different angle then the original cougar sensor. I THINK the wire has enough slack to connect once the new sensor is in place. But it depends on shaving the sensor to fit into place. You can imagine how frustrating it was to do this entire "How-to" only to realize your part doesnt fit.

Re: How To: End the ATX 1-2 Bang Shift!!!
Sorry for bringin up old post - but the part number above didnt work.
But is this what is needed "Vehicle speed sensor, escape, mariner, trans 01-06 $16.27 And if so, why is it in the escape section and not the cougar section? Last edited by Qdog002; 01-19-2007 at 03:11 PM. |

Don't know about the part number but certainly an easy fix for this problem.

Re: How To: End the ATX 1-2 Bang Shift!!!
Hmm, this looks interesting and I also have the bang when stepping on the gas only to reach another "sudden" red light.. I think I'll try this fix, but what is the problem with THEKID's sensor? Did he order the wrong one? Or we will probably have the same problem? Thanks..
I checked ford parts and put in part number =1S7Z-7M101-KA is this what I need? 1S7Z-7M101-KA SENSOR - TURBINE SHA $29.51 $16.27 $16.27 Thanks. Last edited by nene06; 02-01-2007 at 03:11 AM. |
