You floor it ... the guy in front of you brakes ... you have to step off the gas or apply the brakes. The instant you step off the gas, the car violently slams into 2nd's gear. Ford knows that this is a problem, otherwise they wouldn't have fixed the sensor.

It looks like there is a metal gasket under the sensor.. should this be changed also??

No, the gasket looking thing is the flange of the old sensor. Prying at the flange with a screw driver will not work ... you need to "pull" it straight out with some locking/regular vise grips.

maybe you and the other driver floor it at the same time because youve been following eachother for a while then a squirrel/baby carriage/pedestrian............runs/rolls/walks in front of the guys car he hits the brakes you hit the brakes the car slams into second gear...................there you go, now just change the damn sensor

I actually had this happen last night. I was taking off at a light when some idiot pulled out in front of me. I had to slow down to keep from hitting him.

Okay, I received mine from the for dealor, $25.

KIT:
XS7P-7M101-KT

Part numbers:

-7M101- "Turbine Shaft Speed Sensor" qty:1
W500213-S309 "Mounting bolt" qty:1 (Missing in my packet)
SK XS7P-7M101-AA "Instruction Sheet" qty:1

Anyways, the new bolt:
16mm <EDIT> SCREW M6X16 HEX FLNG PIL 8 - As listed by Fordpartsonline.com</EDIT>
Old bolt:
12mm.

As soon as I can get the larger bolt, I will be doing this.
