Sylvania Cool Blues 9005 (high beam) in low beam spot

yes, i know a while ago a few people had tried putting high beams in the low beam spot, and at the time i was like "yeah, whatever". WELL. i won't make my full rant, but Hyper Industries bulbs suck... alot. a WHOLE lot. anyway. so in an effort to get nice, bright, white/blue bulbs, i bought Sylvania Cool Blue 9005's (high beams) and trimmed them up to fit in the low beam spot. i know some people had trouble with them getting stuck or something, but all i can say is they must not have done a good enough job trimming off all that needs to be trimmed. mine slip in and out with ease (reread my post and that sounds... um... suggestive... heh).

driving with them was a WHOLE LOT better... the light wasn't as blue, but that wasn't a big deal, i could see. i figured the light was just less yellow than stock, but still yellowish. well, me and my roommate just switched cars on the way home so i could see my lights from outside the car. DAAaamn they look good. SUPER bright and REALLY white with just a tiny blue tint. no yellow at all.

so 21 dollars later (cheaper than hypers, too), i'm very very impressed. if you want better colored/brighter light, this is the choice for you.

disclaimer: i'm not going to tell you how or what you need to trim to make them fit. if you can't figure it out on your own, you'd prolly end up getting it stuck and blaming me.

Good to hear that! I think I'll give it a try.

By the way, Toucan Industries EUROLITES Xenon Fusion SUCKS too. I passed 3 sets of high beams in few months and the low beam bulbs distorded (same as if it would be from heat).

See attached pic of the Eurolites and look closely at the bub shape......

I did that like a year ago... but that we pre-dremel days and what I did was nip off some of the tabs so they fit.. I just used stock Sylvania highs as well... I thought that I could see a tad better but then when one of my bulbs blew out and I went to change it - I just removed them all together with extreme effort.. I did however, throw in the Sylvania Cool Blue dims and found them to be brighter than having the stock 9005's in the low spot.. so I can definately understand how this would be brighter than what I did... Seeing as to how I have to take out my headlight assemblies soon and crack em open yet again to put back my modified reflector I will attempt this at that time.. I assume that with me having a dremel now I shouldn't have any of the problems I had earlier...
