Re: What Have You Done To Your Cougar Today?

Supposed to have 2 weeks of above average temperatures starting today. I think its time to dig out my newer yellow cougar again, put in a fuel pump, and then start the process of pulling the engine and tranny.

I guess in between I need to continue tearing my old yellow car apart, so I can make that go away as I'm sure the neighbors are sick of seeing it up on jackstands.

Gotta get this yellow Cougar project done before Cougarfest so I don't end up AutoXing the Roush or my Monte Carlo, lol!!

Replaced right lower control arm; such a cake job, and massive handling and noise improvement.

Now I have a weird click/clunk in the left front that only happens when I press the brake pedal while moving. Like the caliper is binding and breaks free or something. Took the caliper off, cleaned everything and re-greased - still does it. Infuriating.

Still trying to pinpoint the trouble with the parking brake. Probably going to wait until I have it on the lift, as I don't like the idea of crawling underneath the car on the floor.
I only wish I had a bigger palm and a bigger face.

Seafoam and long nylon brushes to clean UIM, trying to remedy EGR insufficient flow before I replace the EGR or DPFE.

We're having great weather in DC! Good day for wrenching on a car or just puttering in the garage.

Same in Pennsylvania. I did a lot of puttering today myself. I need to update my Jeep thread.

same incredible weather up here. broke up the ice all over the driveway and changed the oil on the wifey's car.

Work's cut all my hours out for at least a week; that means I get to go weld up the replacement subframe tomorrow...probably on Credit card, but small victories are victories, damn it.

Re: What Have You Done To Your Cougar Today?

Well the noisy brake caliper seems to have fixed itself. I think the outboard pad wouldn't seat itself correctly, so it took a bit of driving to make it go where it needed to be. Drives really nice now.
