Question Clean inside your fuel tank?

    Hey guys n gals!

Well since I'm replacing my fuel pump, I was thinking of just taking the whole tank out and hosing down the inside with water.

There alot of nasty crap in there which i think is the reason why my pump died prematurely (only lasted 2 years and a half). or maybe letting it sit forever? lol

is water and then letting it air dry the way to go to clean the inside? or will I kill the ***** if i miss a spot??

    Thanks,

Would suggest cleaning with gasoline or kerosine

Yeah, I'd use gasoline, too. That way, if you don't get it all out, no problem - it's gasoline. Water would be a problem.

A couple of drops of water won't matter, the ethanol will take care of that, but I again agree that there are better methods to clean it out than water, which probably won't even clean out the gunk left by the years of dirty gasoline anyway.
