Open headers
Ok so the summer nationals are in my city during the 4th of july weekend. We are allowed to run our cars open headers for the weekend. I want to just because i can haha. I wanted to run it right out of the y-pipe. Is this safe? Will i damage anything?

Re: Open headers
Should not depending on how the car is running. If your that worried you can have a exhaust shop fab up a turndown to throw on the y pipe for dirt cheap.

Re: Open headers
Don't sit in one spot with the car running for very long.

Re: Open headers
i dont plan on keeping it open all weekend maybe just one night. I'll stop by an exhaust shop and see if they can weld me a turndown. The only problem is it usually takes a while to get out of the lot at the end of the night so it may idle for a while. I could just keep turning it on and off but that will get annoying. We'll see i got a little time to decide.

Re: Open headers
You could install an exhaust cutout, that's a little more expensive though.

Re: Open headers
well you have your shifter cables running right where it dumps, might want to be careful, I'd imagine it'll get things quite hot in that area.
and ya, ALOT of that exhaust is going to get into the car, carbon monoxide poisening isnt fun. I spent forever working out an exhaust leak. Sorry but I have no interest in open headers after that ordeal. Just make sure YOUR WINDOWS ARE OPEN and that YOU KEEP MOVING. If you feel light headed, pull over immediately
